What’s Love Got To Do With It…?

Writer: Cheryl Lawson-WrightCheryl Lawson-Wright

To love another doesn’t necessarily mean we will agree with everything about them. It simply means to respect and agree to disagree without harm, hurt nor insult! And even if we are the receivers of these infractions, we mustn’t allow the damage to linger causing us a lifetime of damage! This isn’t an easy road to travel but it is a necessary path to take! It’s a daily process of forgiveness, healing, overcoming, releasing…it’s a never ending journey of becoming and evolving…letting go, discovery and embracing self-awareness, self-love and acceptance of self! We can’t change nor control the actions and ways of others…but we do have control of our own actions, beliefs, emotions and ways!

We all have faults and issues…no one has it all together, but together we can have it all! It all starts with self-love and respect! Often the actions of others may not make it easy, but again to love one another is to simply respect and accept without judgment…to have understanding of another’s why to their what…because their perspective is their reality; as is the same with us all! The difference is when one evolves in awareness, discovery and growth…you do better because you know better!

It’s not that you’re giving others a pass to continue in blindness…but when you can’t personally change the actions or ways of others…you don’t carry it! Don’t carry what you can’t change…don’t allow the actions of others to dictate your actions…causing a reaction! You must realize that every comment isn’t worth a response or if you must respond, it’s all about how you respond…don’t react…respond with a keen perception and wisdom and don’t tarry with it! Sometime…silence and walking away it the best for your wellbeing and inner peace!

When you release the agony and burdens of others…and allow your light to shine…a change, can and just maybe over time, will come! So, keep shining…but don’t subject yourself to abuse and mistreatment…you may have to shine from a distance…but never dim your light because of others…keep shining! A key factor to remember is: there’s a difference between self-awareness vs. an ego; self-love vs. selfishness; shining vs. arrogance…so know the difference and move forward accordingly!

What’s LOVE got to do with it…? EVERYTHING! It all starts with “SELF-LOVE”! What flows within exudes to the outside…!
